For the last twenty years, Bill Maher has set the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television. First on “Politically Incorrect” and for the last nine years on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him twenty-nine Emmy nominations.
In October of 2008, this same combination was on display in Maher’s uproarious and unprecedented swipe at organized religion, “Religulous,” directed by Larry Charles (“Borat”).
In addition to his television program, Maher has written five bestsellers.

Bill always is good
I have been seeing Bill Maher for 7 years and each show gets better and this year's show was a blast! Everyone was laughing and Bill was on point and topics as usual.
Bill Maher, Bob Saget and co were great!
Beautiful theater in Hawaii. My family and I watch Real Time and we finally made it out to his yearly Honolulu show. Had an amazing time.
SEEN THIS SHOW A FEW TIMES AND NEVER DISAPPOINTS! CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR!
Bill Maher in Honolulu
Bill Maher's usual insightful, radical wit kept this show afloat. Reggie Brown was entertaining with his clever impression of Barack Obama but the novelty faded after a while and the jokes diminished in quality. A good edit would have improved this routine. The same criticism could be leveled at Bob Saget but without the benefit of the voice and body language of the former president to distract from the weak humor. Furthermore, many of his punchlines were inaudible growls and he seemed to need instruction about how to function on stage to avoid making those annoying puffs into the microphone. In other words, there was a sag in the middle of the two-and-a-half-hour program between Bill scintillating opening and rousing closing call to action. I noticed quite a few early departures from weakness of bladder or boredom.
Bills Seventh New Years Show in Hawaii
After a crazy 2017, Bill Maher and his guests were just what we needed to laugh the last hours of the old year away. His buddy Reggie did a fantastic job impersonating Obama. You could almost feel him in the Concert Hall with us. Rumors were the real Ex-Prez would do a walk on, as he was in town....THAT would have been great! Bob Saget also had a lot of fun with the crowd. We all joined Bill and the boys with a recorded version of Eddie Vedder on "Smile" Hope Mr Vedder can join us in person again next year. Mahalo Bill!
