METALLICA IN CONCERT: DON'T MISS METALLICA ON TOUR IN 2017

Metal heads everywhere know nothing compares to the hardcore intensity of seeing Metallica tear through monumental epics like “Enter Sandman”, “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, and “Master of Puppets” in concert. Headbanging ticket buyers rock hard to countless classics as frontman James Hetfield growls through the band's thunderous throwdowns and brutal ballads. Kirk Hammett’s sick guitar shredding and Lars Ulrich’s furious drum fills complete the sonic assault, stunning listeners with each hard-hitting breakdown and pulse-pounding riff. Still serving up the same brilliant savagery that made them thrash metal superstars in the first place, Metallica continue to unleash the metal mayhem whenever they tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Hetfield (vocals/guitar) met Lars Ulrich (drums) when the latter placed an ad in a Los Angeles-based paper in 1981. After some initial jamming, the two conscripted Dave Mustaine (guitar/vocals) and Cliff Barton (bass) the following year to play their first pioneering thrash metal shows. Mustaine was ejected for drug use prior to recording sessions for the group’s first album, so the band brought in former Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammett to complete the sessions for their 1983 debut Kill ‘Em All. Just as their star was rising, bassist Barton died in a tragic bus accident in Sweden in 1986. Despite the shock, the group felt Barton would want them to carry on, and they found a worthy replacement in Jason Newsted. Soon after, they achieved mainstream success with the 1991 release of their self-titled album, also known as “The Black Album”. The record eventually sold over 16 million copies thanks to the popularity of massive hits like “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven”, and “Nothing Else Matters”. After maintaining their success through the ‘90s, Newsted left the group to focus on side projects. Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy Osbourne) was brought in as a replacement in time to tour for the band’s 2003 Grammy-winning album St. Anger. The revitalized quartet continues to shred at their electrifying shows on tour, where headbangers worldwide convene for unparalleled rocking.

Metallica Killing it at The Hollywood Palladium

I have 55 years old and saw Metallica at The Hollywood Palladium in March of 1985 co-headling with Armored Saint.........I mentioned that to several of the Kids waiting in line before the doors opened......ironically James Hetfield mentioned the last time they played the Palladium was in fact March of 1985. I know James had trouble with his voice in Denmark days prior and being on the road is grueling and tough but I can say all 4 members came out on stage and were charged, full of energy, into playing, into getting "into it" as we the fans do and did......sometimes bands show their fatigue or burn out........not Metallica even though they had a very long day coming from the Grammy's and being on the road battling illness leading up to it. Although it was a bit short, only 10 songs, they played some of the very best including For Whom the Bell Tolls and Blackened.......it was just awesome and so worth the $100.....hope they come back to smaller venues after raking in their 401K money playing the big stadiums this Summer, I'm choosing to hold off on those shows for more intimate gigs.

This show was excellent. It is Metallica so it couldn't suck obviously, but I enjoyed the stripped down show. No fancy lights or explosions or movies being projected. Just the band and 4 amps on a white background. PERFECT!

I have seen Metallica in concert at least 15 times, this by far was the best show I have been to! The setting was great! It wasn't a huge venue so not a ton of people. We had awesome seats where they were not too far from us! It was a special evening for sure! I am so happy we were able to get tickets! I am so glad I was able to share this experience with my son as well! He was ecstatic that Whiskey in a Jar was played as well!
