LAURYN HILL IN CONCERT:As a member of the Fugees and a decorated solo artist, the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill broke new ground for female artists in hip hop, becoming one of the most dominant musical figures of the '90s and the first hip-hop artist to take home a Grammy for Album of the Year. With new material and a critically-acclaimed tour in 2013, Hill proved she hasn't lost her edge – or her voice – taking the stage with a full backing band and breathing new life into her catalog of hits with updated arrangements, extensive improvisation, and dramatic readings of her socially conscious verses. FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:"Do not sleep on Lauryn! She is back. She was on point! This is what music has been missing!""The vibe was continuously raised to higher heights. What is quickly apparent is that this is no traditional act – from the beginning a very unique and nostalgic vibe is set through the familiar set list, but against brand new arrangements that drive the classic material head first into the multi-genre-infused present.""Epic performance by Lauryn Hill. She killed it in every way possible. So happy I was able to be a part of it."BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Hill rose to international fame when the Fugees' seminal 1996 album The Score topped charts around the world, earning a Grammy for her spellbinding cover of Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly." The group’s dissolution in 1997 did nothing to hinder her success – 1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, her only solo studio album to date, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, landed a No. 1 single with “Doo Wop (That Thing)”, and took home five Grammys, including Album of the Year. A seasoned performer, Hill continued to impress fans in 2013 with her substance-over-style approach, building excitement for the much-anticipated 2014 release of her sophomore album Letters From Exile.

I enjoyed Ms Lauryn Hill, although she has rearranged most of her songs, her voice is still amazing. At first for some songs it was hard to catch however once she got into the song you could feel the vibe of the song. This was one of the best concerts Ive attended. My only issue was that her opening act was not long enough, she should definitely have at least another act before she comes out, to void the illusion that she is late.

Not what I expected

Wanted to hear Lauryns smooth voice sing some of her classics. She decided to perform mostly high energy mixes with a lot of rapping. Plus the show was supposed to start at 8. She shows up at 9:30. Not cool

The worst performance imaginable. She came onstage straight from her vehicle. Ran through her show as if she was James Brown. Would like a refund I walked out after waiting 4 hours for her performance. How do you rush through 20 year old songs...

Started four hours late and the band completely drowned out her vocals and the tempo was terrible.
